Blue Zones – Balloons !!!
A wonderfull Blue Zones Saturday evening.
We had just finished eating when we heard the whoooosh of a hot-air balloon directly overhead. There it was, just clearing the trees. And another behind it, higher up. And then 2 more drifted by, competing in the My Waterloo Days precision landing event.
21 balloons all together drifted over our house and neighbors. Many cleared the tall oaks by mere feet as they steered for Byrnes Park. Nearly an hour of enjoyment. Light clouds, light breezes, mid-70s, family and friends together. Blue Zones!
That was evening, and then morning, shortly after sunrise….
Yardwork in the cool of early morning was accompanied by the entire fleet lifting off barely half a mile away. One by one the balloons rose above the trees. Some soared high, others skimmed the treetops as they drifted away.
Scattered clouds, a gentle breeze, upper 60s, birdsong, and the distant whoosh of balloons rising. Tough to be grumpy while transplanting and weeding before showering and starting the day.
Look around you and find your Blue Zones.
