The Blue Zones Project is a way to live longer, healthier, and happier. Both Waterloo and Cedar Falls, IA are in the final round to become demonstration Blue Zones communities for Iowa’s “Healthiest State” initiative.

Dan Buettner spent 8 years with National Geographic studying areas where people live much longer than in the rest of the world, including the wealthiest nations.  He described his findings in “Blue Zones” and “Thrive”.  The Blue Zones Project is an attempt to transfer the “secrets” he learned to communities in America.

The “secret” is that you can Take Control Naturally.  You can adopt lifestyle habits that are found in communities where people live longer, healthier lives, and are generally happier as well.

Today I spent some time in a blue zone!  I walked for an hour out of doors in the fresh air and sunshine.  (Iowa – no vitamin D until April.)  I contemplated how much I enjoy my family, community, hobbies and job.  I dropped my stress level, blood pressure and blood sugar.  I still need meds too, but a better lifestyle means fewer meds.

What does all this have to do with Bone Health?  Good Health is the sum of all the things you do to improve each detail of your life.  It is up to you.  Take Control Naturally.  It’s your future, your health, your life.  Why not make it the best you can?
